Wedding {Love Shot}

I know there are many of you who are waiting on this wedding post (mostly Kisha). I don't like to do preveiws because something inside me wants to post all of them but I couldn't wait so, here is just one. I had to try something different and I am not sure I got what I was thinking.

Oh, and I'm busy getting my new blog going. I can't wait! I want it perfect. Oh, and another thing thanks for all of your extremely nice comments on my family. That was a tough day to get it all together but it turned out to beautifully.
I feel for all of my wonderful clients who go thru the same torture...whatever you wanna call it.

I committed to some trade work for a scrapbox and I am so happy I did. I got 2 wonderful things out of it this a beautiful family and some organization. If there are any of you out there who need something to organize all of your scrapbooking stuff this is the thing to get.

You will recognize these guys from an earlier post. They came to Utah and had me get shots of the kids and when I went to Vegas I met up with them in Mesquite to get the whole family. I think it turned out pretty good for being smack in the middle of the day. Enjoy! I've go to finish editing.

This is my mom and step dad but we call him dad. These guys haven't been married for 35 years but it looks like it. I'm not sure, I will probably get in trouble by my mom, but I think it's been 5 years. Anyways, these 2 have a green thumb, of which, has one them many yard beautification contest and others I don't remember right now (I might get in trouble for that too...my mother claims I don't remember anything). I have reminded them that my house is full of projects but "no" they keep working on theirs...seriously, you gotta help a girl out.
So, it felt completely right to have the session in their backyard, to capture them in their element.

Enjoy! This is my favorite part of why I got into this business to capture my family for generations.

Lucky again

I have the most wonderful parents and that includes the inlaws. Everyone talks about how horrible it is to marry into another family but that is not the case for me let me introduce to you my in laws.

These 2 love birds have been married for 35 years and still very much in love as you can tell. Mom has served in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for I think 12 years and Dad has served in countless church callings and yes he has been a Bishop (and for those of you don't know my last name it is Bishop)...hence has was called "Bishop, Bishop"

...a snapshot into the session. I brought my children along to play in the water and that lasted 20 min until the mosquitos decided to attach the children and little "E" was petrified to the point that she wet her pants and I still kept shooting for maybe 10 more min...I think this makes me for a bad mom (I care more about getting the shot than taking my daughter to shelter...lesson learned)

I didn't think I would get to posting these tonight but well...let's say I surprise myself sometimes. Tammy I think I got some shots you might be proud of.
Let me give you a little bit of background to the session. There is a 1 year involved (let's remember that age rocks!). One sweet little autistic child and one 5 year that doesn't want to be told what to do (but thats okay neither do I and trust me this is very true).

Kisha I'm sorry it took me so long to get to the post but needless to say you have some to look at on the web while the CD is in the mail.
My favorites are of the abandoned house but it seems everytime I go to one I get kicked off...but this guy was nice. He let me take a few before we left. I don't see the problem because I am only shooting on the outdside but I can understand that it is a liability for the owner. So, I hope one day that I can find a house that the owner wont care if I'm there. And just for the record I always ask the client if they want to go and there may be a possiblity of getting kicked off and if they are game then we will give it a try. It is a litte hard to track down the owner of an abandoned home so I just wait for them to come to me.

I have something of Bryn and out of all my children she is the one that will not go for a photosshoot but this time I had a plan...a late night party. We got the treats, drinks and she had to set it all up in a display, but before the late night began we went out for some soon to be 8 year old photos. It was a blast of course for me but best of all Bryn liked it too!

Here is what I have to show of my beautiful yet so mysterious child. But as of late she has expressed some interests like sewing, sports (so far just soccer) she loves to chase the boys at school and she does a pretty good job at holding her own when she fights (wrestles) with older brother. I just love this little.

Meet Ms. Kiesha my daughters pre-school teacher 2 years ago and we haven't been able to let go. This was one of the best pre-schools I have ever had my kids in. I just wish we lived closer.

I am so happy to see that you are finally getting married as I am sure that your mom is (Kiesha) but it is definetly crunch time to get it all done by Oct 3rd. Anyways, I think we had a good time...at least I enjoyed myself.

This is what I live by. When I go out to run or walk in the morning I get to enjoy a little farm life. I actually like it a lot. I am a small town girl at heart and I didn't realize this until I lived in Nephi.

So, on this walk I took some scenery and also some textures. I love how they turned out. I may want to put some together for purchase after I have played around with them. Let me know if your interested.

Many of you know that Angie (simplicity photography) is a good friend of mine possibly my BFF (don't you think Angie). These are my friends Mike & Geniel they are first time parents I loved watching them interact with this tiny little one. She was a preemie weighing in at birth 4 lbs 2 oz. So so tiny. My smallest weighed in at 7lbs. those few pounds can make such a difference. Well guys here is a little peek of what we got today.

Well, it's because all the kids are gone I have one sleeping and the other is at a friends house (school starts next week for the Kindergarteners) and the other 2 they are at school. Now, I can actually have a clean house and enjoy some peace and quiet, and what comes with this new found freedom...I can catch up.

I wanted to share in this post that my 7 year daughter took this photo. She loves that I have a new camera and she gets to take pictures with it.

Where did summer go?

WOW! The time has flown the kids start school on Monday and I feel some structure is about to happen. We didn't do much playing this summer just some work on the house (we are putting in the hardwood floors right now...it's coming along). In the last few weeks we did go have some fun.

First off went to Park City (didn't take many photos gotta live life and stop trying to capture it all...right).
Secondly, we went to hike the Narrows in Zion National Park. I have always wanted to do this hike and I finally did. It was amazing! We started at about 9:00 am and ended at 6:00 pm and yes, it took us 9 hours to finish this 16 mile hike. Let me tell you I was in a little pain by the end of the hike. But when you are hiking in the water over rocks, or shall I say greasy bowling balls, it may cause possible knee damage. Luckily that only happened near the end...but I would totally do it again and bring my camera the next time.

I didn't take my camera for I did not know what is was going to be like and now I wish I did.

We also went rock climbing and every single one of my children loved it. I haven't done this sport in 11 years (I got engaged rock climbing). I forgot how much fun it is.

I have limited openings for Novemeber as I am not scheduling anything past Thanksgiving (did that last year and was an absolute basket case...and trust me you don't want that). I went to Sand Diego on saturday for the day...short trip (and now I know what it's like for my husband) and I think I had jet lag (he he he at least saying that made me feel better for how exhausted I was on sunday).

Now, I know this family that "B" comes from and they are simply amazing musically talented like the Osmonds, yeah...the Osmonds (Osmonds are from Utah too).

...by my very talented photographer friend Megan It really was a challage to think about me and what I do (I must not do it very often). So, I guess I will play along...and I've been asked to name 7 quirky things about me...ummmm, it really took me some to come up with something...but here goes.

1. I love to laugh. In High School I was labeled most contagiuos laugh (I think it was hard for them to choose between most likely to succeed or most popular). I will laugh at anything trust me if you get hurt and its pretty funny you will get laughed at. My kids know this all to well. Here's a good story my son was tired of his hiccups we tried everything from him holding his breath to drinking pickle juice. The only thing left was to scare him...so I did and he was terrified but what happened...his hiccups were gone. It was a good laugh enough to cry.

Oh...and that Nepolian Dinamite was so funny that I cried then too.

2. I have to sleep with my window open...got to get that yucky morning breath air out...ya know what I mean. And the extra advantange to that is you get to snuggle in your blankets cause it's so cold in your room (my DH doesn't like it very much in the winter).

3. I love to bug (irritate, annoy, taunt) people...but try to do it back and you may get kicked...in the nuts, sorry honey!

4. I love to mow the lawn.

5. I am an addict...yes, I am addicted to sugar...anything sugar you've got me.

6. I hate the smell of coffee I think it's disgusting.

7. I love anything with salt, so that pickle juice thing to get rid of hiccups...love it, salt and vinegar chips, and just plain old salt on anything I eat. I've been told I may die sooner but for now it's really good.
j/k...I am really giving it a good try to be healthier.

I got my 5D today (SCREAM.........YEAH....Wahoooooo!!!!)

Misty's family were my first victim's and I have to say that they were perfect too (great little models) but little "Z" had something else in mind for this shoot (didn't want much to do with me) but the second she put on the Tu Tu. She was good to go. I have to say there is something about fluffy frilly stuff that makes a girl feel beautiful.

A friend of mine called me the other night and told me I needed to drop everything and come to this location, so I did, and as I received directions I knew I had been there before...in High School.
I totally forgot about this house and it had the coolest old bus that I hope I can use it later for maybe some Bridals or something. Stephanie thank you for getting me over there...BTW you should check her out she has been training with me for a couple of months now and I will miss ya when you start to get busy. When I see cute kids I want to photograph them. I have on occasion asked if I could photograph their child and I'm thinking it sounds a little stockerish so I have stopped (okay I have actually only done it twice) but this is one of the families I asked and I think she was willing because we went to Junior High together so I think there was some trust. How could I not ask them look at how beautiful they are. Thanks Amber it was a lot of fun!!!

I love maternity photos and I rarely get to do them. I begged and pleaded with my SIL to let me get this shot (inspired by Amy Schuff) and then 5 days later she had her baby (you'll be seeing those soon too!).
I think pregnancy is a very beautiful thing but many that I know think it's about being FAT...WHATEVER! Look how beautiful it is.

It's so amazing that this little thing grows inside of you. I am in awe at this whole process and to be completely honest with you all...my favorite part of pregnancy is the birth. If I was better at raising children...I would have more and more and more just to experience the birth again but at some point it needs to stop because all that raising part is a little challenging for me. Anyways, this sweet mom has had her 6th child and she is wonder woman at that I think she gets the best mom award.

So, it's one of those days you do absolutely nothing like stay in PJ's all day and at all costs don't finish painting that room that needs to be done for the next process...and reschedule the photoshoot I had today. Instead, I should edit some old stuff. Now, you might think she is my favorite child but she's just the easiest to photograph.

I would love to keep all the old around it makes for a beautiful backdrop but the builders around here keep tearing them down (Scott my brother-in-law he is part owner with BP Builders). He is the best builder here in Utah County. With all that being said I found this really cool shed by my house and have wanted to take some photos here and the day I decide to use it, it started to rain and it was scheduled to be ripped down. So, here are the photos (I'm not liking the shirt but o'well) and now the shed is gone.

It's seriously like a girls night out...I get a break from motherhood (a major plus) I meet the most amazing people and I'm having a blast. I love my job! Honestly I cannot believe that almost 9 years has gone by since I have had my first (my husband calls them test babies...he was one and so was I). I sure hope I am teaching him everything he needs to know to go out into that almost crazy and yet so wonderful world. I just wanted to share some of my recents with him...and now that I have the easy 2 out of the way more to come with the other 2.

We went to Salt Air to shoot some engagements and loved the new location but not the bugs. This couple was so in love and easy to photograph it just brought me back to the days when I was so giddy, in love, and expressing PDA.

I was so excited to get some shots of Becham and so I brought all of my gear (my fat camera bag) to get the one shot. And then I get there just in time for the game to start and I couldn't do it. I could not get bring myself to get closer. I felt like I was stealing something from him.

I could kick myself for not having to move those people, with their little point and shoots, and get me (and Angie) that perfect shot. And then I thought...Paparazzi?? I think not!! I could never have a job like that. So, Angie this is the best shot that I could muster up (I think it's good enough to put on our walls and remember our husbands won't mind at all)

All in all it was the best date I had with little man. It was fun to see him so excited to see the most famous soccer player in the world. Gabe says, "I am going to be better than Becham" and I say, "Go for it live your dreams.

Finally...I have some photos for you to see Sue. Spencer was very easy going and just did whatever I asked (i'm not used to that with all the little ones I photograph) It was a nice change of pace. I really enjoyed this shoot and...I do have to say that Spencer is a looker and not only that he his a very genuine person. He will make any woman proud when the time comes.
I love that he brought his guitar...I wish that I could play. I could start taking lessons since I am pretty good at guitar heros it may come easy -right!

I just had my family here this last week from California and boy was is a blast. Everyday my kids got home from school there was always someone here to play with...and this here is my sister-in-law isn't she beautiful she is simply amazing 3 kids under the age of 4 and she's only 23. Super MOM in my opinion. She was always has something to do with the kids from planning parties to making bows and paper airplanes to PBJ's (hey that's my business name:) for lunch.

I am addicted to blogging (I'm finally admitting it whew...that wasn't too hard). I would say it's a daily thing I have to do to feel complete. So, had to make some time to look and post.

I'll introduce you to the remodel. My little Isaac loves to help out and he is into everything. Now that we are getting closer to the end he is having a hard time understanding "No, no"
Just after we had the mud and tape done on the sheetrock he decided to do a little bit of finger painting with the mud. I'm thinkin' it was a little bit of heaven because every little corner had his mark.

I wanted to share with how my house looks. This is a shot looking into my kitchen from my sunken family room.

This is my living room and it's a dream for photographers plenty of window light. Soon this room will be empty of all of this extra stuff and have new flooring and paint. Then I can actually hang up some pictures and decorate.

But...I am still here I have just been a little busy with some changes I am making. A new website of which I hope it to be up at the end of this month. You'll see changes on my pricing so I could put it out there now if you want my current pricing then you should book with me in the next few weeks. On April 1st I will now longer charge my current pricing. So, if you want the price of $250 with negatives then book with me now even if your not ready to have your photos done until September or whenever you would like. Sledding

My crazy life as a photographer.

I have wanted to post for so long but haven't been able to figure this Mac stuff out oh...and not to mention I have a new editing software called Photoshop CS3 (it's a monster). I am computer illiterate Angie (simplicity photography) can attest to that I call her with the stupidest questions what am I thinking about being a digital photographer. The good news is I got a new lense today 70-200 mm 2.8 LSeries I can't wait to take it outside and give it a try. I'm going to leave with a cute little one.
